Freedom, a national Direct Mail Company based in Aurora, IL is one of the largest, independently owned, privately held, direct mail marketing providers in the United States.  We offer opportunities in a solid company that has an excellent record of growth and stability.  We are looking for a Service Manager for our Lettershop Department.

The Direct Mail Service Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a Lettershop Service department. Responsible for directing equipment repairs, equipment set-up, trouble shooting and engineering of mail processing equipment, leading a team of repair technicians who perform routine set-up and maintenance of equipment. Monitors schedules to assist department in meeting client expectations, including mail dates, quality product and overall customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes, manages and maintains efficient workflow processes, work instructions and standard operating policies for all repair maintenance of equipment.
  • Establishes, manages, promotes and maintains a safety culture for all employees, adhering to all regulatory agency and company standards.
  • Works with the customer base, through customer service, to evaluate and present the cost effective solutions to mail processing
  • Manages inventory of repair parts.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations for engineering change requests and corrective/preventative actions.
  • Maintains warranty repair record-keeping and escalates trends and quality issues to Quality Manager.
  • Develop training mentoring programs for repair technicians.
  • Works closely with manufacturing relative to cross training of employees and sharing of resources to meet production schedules and work load management within the department.
  • Maintains and keeps accurate records.
  • Coordinates 3rd Party repairs.
  • Supports and adheres to company policies and procedures, attends meeting as needed to support organizational activity, interfaces with customers/vendors as required and performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance/Supervisor experience – minimum five years’ experience
  • Solid technical knowledge and understanding of mechanicals and electrical processes of equipment.
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills required; must be able to write and understand routine reports, follow oral and written instructions, and speak effectively.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills.
  • Position requires strong managerial skills.
  • Problem solving experience with ability to make sound decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet required timelines.
  • Ability to handle demanding workflow in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Team player and problem solving skills a must.
